  Rob and his wife, Heather, are both from Horry County. Friends since high school, Rob graduated Salutatorian in the NMBHS class of 1985, and Heather from Coastal Academy in Myrtle Beach in 1987. Married in 2004, they both remain deeply entrenched in local social and professional networks on the Grand Strand. Rob and Heather enjoy living the coastal, country lifestyle on the family farm in Longs.

Rob's oldest son, Brayden, is 24 years old and graduated Magna Cum Laude from USC in 2023, with a degree in Public Health. He is now working as a Lead Medical Scribe in Columbia and making plans for Graduate school. Jackson, born in 2005, is 20 years old and a Junior at USC. He is also matriculating in the School of Public Health, with a minor in Psychology. He enjoys the piano and many friends.

Our family loves going to the mountains, but the coast of SC will always be home. In recent years, we have made more concerted efforts to travel together- and with friends. We have learned that you don't have to travel far, to be together! We can be found at Williams Brice stadium for all USC home games and would love to see you there. The Company is a non-franchised firm and, therefore, not bound by constraining systems and procedures, or volume-based transaction goals. We work closely with each client to understand their unique challenges, goals, and timeframes- investing substantially in the development of customized solutions that meet their specific needs. There is no obligation or pressure to sign a Listing Agreement until the preliminary advisory work is complete, and both the business and owner are ready for the marketplace. We understand that most owners aren't sure what the business is worth, and if they want to sell now or in the future. Certified Intermediaries have been trained and vetted by the IBBA, the world's preeminent business brokerage and M&A group of professionals. Those designated with the CBI or MCBI titles, have invested substantially in their development and career- and have been proven to meet the highest of ethical and professional standards currently attainable in their area of expertise. Intermediaries operate at the same level as Attorneys, CPAs, Wealth Advisors, Securities Advisors, and more. Business brokerage is largely unregulated, although some states have the requirement that a real estate license must also be held. The struggle in the industry is that anyone can assume the title and launch into the field, in the Carolinas, which is perfectly legal unfortunately. Deploy has aligned it's brokerage with the ethics and best practices of the local Realtor's Association, CCAR, and is a licensed commercial realtor in good standing with the SC Real Estate Commission and National Association of Realtors. The brokerage approach is diligent and transparent on behalf of doing things the right way, for the right reasons, and fully protecting the integrity of the client and deal.

Local connectivity matters! It's what you know and who you know, and how an Advisor has cultivated working relationships in a local market over time. Strong business Advisors have to be vested in a people and a place- and be able to show that they have weathered a few storms with them. If a prospective Broker can't openly talk about the successes AND tough lessons-learned, over a considerable period of activity in your market, it should be a big red flag. Deploy is a grassroots organization in the service of the Grand Strand local market, and across the eastern Carolinas.


Deploy is committed to integrity, collaboration, transparency, and teamwork. Oftentimes owners are surprised by the amount of work involved on their part. In order to be successful, both the owner and Advisor will have to work effectively together to get it done. It is absolutely critical that clients provide accurate and timely financial information that can be packaged and continuously updated throughout the listing period. Ultimately, the Broker's ability to fully support the value proposition, in conjunction with the client's ability to connect with the buyer, swings the deal.


The answer is, "it depends!" Very seldom is the path to a transaction a straight line. If a client can get packaged, priced, on the market, and under contract in six months, they have beaten the curve. Most business Intermediaries are confident and aggressive with their representations of timeframes, however, most know to expect at least six to nine months in nominal market conditions. For this reason, most Listing Agreements are twelve-month terms, to allow for some typically slower periods of activity in Q4 and Q1. But, in some cases, slam dunks in the market do happen!


The primary pitfall is that some business Brokers you may encounter are not your friends- and may not be looking after your best interests, personally or professionally. Listing Agreements may be hard to terminate and binding, or result in unnecessarily protracted negative deal scenarios. Downstream effects can include lawsuits, emotional duress, unmaximized returns, and ultimately a lack of results and loss of time. Business deals are highly emotionally charged and should be supported by a credentialed Intermediary that the client connects with and can trust unconditionally.


Deploy Advisors offers a range of flexible fee structures, dependent upon the size and complexity of the deal and the client's ability to pay. Most projects consummate with a small up-front engagement fee, upon delivery of the analytics and Broker Pricing Opinion. This fee is fully credited to a transaction fee earned upon the successful transfer of assets at closing. Most clients pay $750 to $1,500 for an initial evaluation of the marketability of their business, followed by a transaction fee of 8% to 10% of the total value procured by the broker's efforts in the marketplace. At Deploy, we never want to miss the opportunity to work with an owner and quality business due to hesitation over an upfront fee. The goal will always be to produce a maximum result and share in a very successful business transfer and liquidity event.
